The code of practice for Tower cranes:
- provides practical guidance on how to manage health and safety risks associated with tower cranes inclusive of hammerhead, flat top, luffing jib and self-erecting tower cranes; and advice on how to achieve the standards required under the work health and safety laws
- applies to all workplaces where tower cranes are used and anyone involved in these activities
- explains identifying hazards when using tower cranes
- explains risk management process and controlling risks when using tower cranes
- includes information about the relevant technical standards
- includes examples of training checklists, and advice for inspections and maintenance of tower cranes.
