The Code of Practice for Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment:
- provides practical guidance on how to manage health and safety risks associated with sexual and gender-based harassment; and how to achieve the standards required under the work health and safety laws
- applies to all workplaces
- covers specific hazards and control measures for sexual and gender-based harassment
- highlights the role of leadership and culture in creating safe and respectful workplaces that are proactive in managing the risks of sexual and gender-based harassment
- is intended to be read and applied in conjunction with the code of practice for Managing psychosocial hazards at work. Sexual and gender-based harassment often occurs in conjunction with other psychosocial hazards and as a PCBU you must consider the interaction between these hazards when managing risks to the health and safety of workers and others.
Workplaces should also refer to the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act 2023 if they have under-18 year old apprentices, workers and work experience students.
