WorkSafe Month

A time to make your commitment to improving safety and health in your workplace

Keeping Tasmanians Safe and Well, Every Day is WorkSafe Tasmania’s key strategic goal.

Helping you do this in your workplace are the many events offered every October during WorkSafe Month.

A key initiative of the WorkCover Tasmania Board, WorkSafe Month is part of a national effort to reduce death, injury and disease in workplaces.

The theme for 2019 was ‘Safe Bodies, Safe Minds’, focusing on the importance of physical and mental health, and wellbeing at work and what you can do to ensure your work is safer, healthier and more productive.

If you missed out on the opportunity to attend an event this year, make sure you read the wrap up in the January 2020 edition of Workplace Issues magazine.

In 2020, WorkSafe will hold the biennial WorkSafe Tasmania Awards in Launceston. The Awards recognise excellence in work health and safety by Tasmanian businesses, organisations and individuals from both the private and public sectors.

The WorkSafe Awards are held every two years to:

  • promote, encourage and publicly recognise innovation and excellence; and
  • influence the Tasmanian community’s attitudes and values towards work health, safety, wellbeing, rehabilitation and return to work; and
  • encourage a change to positive behaviours and broader workplace engagement.
