Risk management of agricultural shows and carnivals Code of Practice

Effective in Tasmania on and from December 2004

This code of practice for Risk management of agricultural shows and carnivals:

  • is a Tasmania-only code of practice
  • provides practical guidance on how to manage health and safety risks associated with agricultural shows and carnivals; and how to achieve the standards required under the work health and safety laws
  • applies to all agricultural shows and carnivals and anyone involved in these activities
  • explains who has heath and safety duties, including show/carnival organisers
  • covers safety of facilities
  • covers safety with animals, including electrical safety in animal sheds, fire safety and more
  • covers amusement structures, food businesses, fire safety, side shows, communications, emergency planning, temporary structures vehicle movement, alcohol and more.
